부모의 양육태도 및 양육 스트레스와 성인발달장애인의 문제행동간의 관계

본 연구에서는 자녀의 행동특성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보고되고 있는 성인발달장애인 부모의 양육태도와 양육스트레스를 분석하여 자녀의 행동특성과의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 G지역 발달장애인 고등교육기관에 재학 중인 성인발달장애인의 부모 58명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 성인발달장애인 부모의 양육태도 유형으로 애정적 태도가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 부모 중 32.8%가 매우 높은 스트레스를 경험하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 부모의 양육태도 유형과 양육스트레스 모두 자녀의 장애정도에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 부모가 인식하고 있는 성인발달장애인의 행동특성으로 내재화 행동특성이 외현화 행동보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 성인발달장애인 부모의 양육태도와 양육스트레스, 자녀의 행동특성 간의 상관의 경우 양육스트레스 요인 중 부모가 느끼는 고통이 심할수록 양육태도는 거부적, 통제적인 것으로 나타났으며, 자녀의 까다로운 기질로 인한 양육스트레스가 자녀의 행동특성과 상관이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 성인발달장애인의 행동지원을 위해서는 성인발달장애인 부모가 긍정적 양육태도를 지닐 수 있도록 생애주기, 장애유형 및 정도, 스트레스 수준에 따른 지원방법 모색이 필요할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among Perception of Parenting Attitudes and Behaviors, Parenting Stress and Challenging Behavior of Adults with Developmental Disabilities. 58 parents were surveyed for the study at the G District’s post-secondary education center whose children are with developmental disabilities. They were given a questionnaire that addressed the parents’ current parenting attitude, coping up with parenting stress, and understanding their children’s behavior. The results and implications of the study are as follows: First, most parents show affection towards child rearing, and 32.8% of parents are under severe stress. Both parenting attitudes and parenting stress were affected by level of disabilities. Parents think their children have an inner issues more than the outer behavior. Secondly the pain which consist in parenting stress is mutually related to parenting attitudes. When children have difficult temperaments it really affect their behavior, and when parent’s feel more pain about their children they show rejection and control of child rearing attitudes than others. Therefore, for helping behavior’s of adults with developmental disabilities, parents need to have a positive attitude to cope with stress. The social supports are help parents according to their life-long, type of disabilities, level of disabilities, and stress rating.
