본 연구는 한국보험업계의 2007년도와 2008년도 CSR활동을 경제적․사회적․환경적 책임활동으로 구분하고 업종간(생명보험사와 손해보험사), 보험회사의 규모별, 내국사와 외국사간 차이가 있는지 분석하였다. 또한 CSR활동에 영향을 주는 요인들을 알아보기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 생명보험사의 경우 사회적 책임, 손해보험사의 경우 경제적 책임을 상대적으로 중요하게 생각하여 실천을 많이 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 내국보험사의 CSR활동 중 경제적 책임과 사회적 책임이 회사의 규모와 어떠한 상관관계가 있는지 살펴본 결과 경제적 책임의 경우 생․손보 모두 상관관계가 없는 반면 사회적 책임의 경우 규모에 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 회귀분석결과에서는 국내보험사의 CSR활동 중 경제적 책임은 생․손보간 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로, 사회적 책임은 규모와 양(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 생명보험사와 손해보험사를 대상으로 각각 회귀분석을 실시한 경우에는 생ㆍ손보사의 사회적 책임의 경우 규모와 양(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study analyses CSR activities of Korean insurance companies of which the data was collected from magazine published by Korea Life Insurance Association and general insurance magazine of General Insurance Association of Korea. The firms' CSR activities were classified into three categories - economic, social, environment responsibility, and the number of CSR activities of each company was analysed by correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the activities on social responsibility are preferred by life insurance companies while the activities on economic responsibility by non life insurance companies. Firm size is found to be significantly correlated with the frequency of CSR activities.
