영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 감각처리민감성과 양육스트레스의 관계에서 양육불안의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 어머니의 감각처리민감성 및 그 하위요인들이 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향에서 양육불안의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 만 1세부터 6세 이하의 자녀를 둔 어머니 254명을 대상으로 IBM SPSS 26.0과 PROCESS macro ver. 4.0 프로그램을 사용하여 변인 간 상관분석 및 매개효과를 검증하였고, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 감각처리민감성 총점과 하위요인인 저감각역, 자극흥분, 심미적 민감성 그리고 양육불안 수준이 높으면 양육스트레스 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 감각처리민감성 총점이 양육불안을 매개하여 양육스트레스에 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 하위요인 중 저감각역과 자극흥분은 양육불안을 부적으로 매개하였고, 심미적 민감성은 양육불안을 정적으로 매개하여 양육스트레스에 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 어머니의 감각처리민감성과 양육스트레스의 관계에서 양육불안의 매개효과를 구체적으로 검증하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 특히, 어머니의 양육스트레스에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악할 때 어머니의 개인 내적 요인인 감각처리민감성 하위요인과 양육불안을 고려하고 이에 대한 개입을 탐색할 필요성과 중요성을 제안한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of parenting anxiety in the relationship between maternal sensory processing sensitivity and its sub-factors on parenting stress. For this purpose, IBM SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS macro ver. 4.0 programs were used to test the correlation and mediating effects of variables among 254 mothers with children aged 1 to 6 years old, and the results are as follows. First, higher levels of maternal sensory processing sensitivity, including sub-factors such as low sensory threshold, ease of excitation, and aesthetic sensitivity, as well as higher levels of parenting anxiety, were associated with higher levels of parenting stress. Second, maternal sensory processing sensitivity affect parenting stress through the mediation of parenting anxiety. Third, among the subfactors, low sensory threshold and ease of excitation negatively mediated parenting anxiety, and aesthetic sensitivity positively mediated parenting anxiety, which in turn affected parenting stress. The study is significant in that it specifically examines the mediating effect of parenting anxiety on the relationship between maternal sensory processing sensitivity and parenting stress. In particular, These results highlight the importance of considering mothers' intrapersonal factors, such as sensory processing sensitivity and parenting anxiety, when understanding maternal parenting stress, as well as the need for prevention and intervention strategies to address parenting stress.
