청소년의 자해행동에서 자살 의도 유무에 따른 집단간 심리특성 차이와 예측변수 탐색

The Research of the Predictable Variables and the Group Difference of Psychological Characteristics by with or without Self-Suicidal Intention in the Self-Injuring Behaviors of Adolescents

초록

본 연구는 자해청소년의 일반적 특성을 이해하고, 자해 행동에 있어서 자살의도 유무에 따른 관련 변인간(불안정애착, 복합외상 경험, 고립감, 부적응적 정서조절전략, 해리경험, 자해동기 및 빈도)간 차이 및 예측변수를 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 자해 경험이 있는 서울 및 경기 지역의 14∼19세 청소년 102명의 자료를 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여, 기술통계, 상관분석, 독립표본 t 검증, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 자해청소년의 자해행동은 15세(23.5%)에 가장 많이 시작되었고, 칼로 피부를 긋거나 피부에 무언인가를 새겼다(40.2%)의 방법을 가장 많이 사용했으며, 자해 시작 전 생각하지 않음(43.1%)이 가장 높게 나왔다. 둘째, 자해청소년의 자해행동 시 자살도 유무에 따른 구분에서 38.2%가 자해행동 시 자살의도가 있다고 보고하였고, 비자살적 자해집단보다 자살의도를 가진 자해집단이 해리 경험이 높으며, 타인비난 경향이 적었으며, 자해빈도와 개인내적 자해동기가 더 높았다. 셋째, 자해청소년의 자살의도 유무에 따른 자해행동을 판별해주는 예측변수를 탐색한 결과, 해리경험을 많이 할수록 자해행동 시 자살의도가 있다고 분류될 확률이 높아지는 반면, 타인비난 및 반추의 정서조절 전략의 사용 증가는 자살 의도가 있다고 분류될 확률을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로, 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 추후 연구를 위한 제언에 대하여 논의 하였다.

Abstract

This study is to understand the general features of self-injuring adolescents, and search for the predictable variables and the differences with or without self-suicidal intention in the self-injuring behaviors among their related variables: the unstable affections, the experiences of complex trauma, the feeling of isolation, the maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies, the dissociative experiences, the motivation for self-injury and its frequency. To do this, we have analyzed the data from the 102 adolescent subjects aged 14∼19 in the area of Seoul and Gyeonggi and practised descriptive statistics, correlational research, independent t-test, and logistic regression, using SPSS 21.0 program. Its findings are as follows: first, self-injuring behaviors of self-injuring adolescents started at the age of 15 (23.5%), the highest percentage, they used the most way of cutting or carving with a knife (40.2%), and the biggest portion of them thought of nothing before self-injuring (43.1%). Second, it was reported that 38.2% of subjects had his or her self-suicidal intention in the course of self-injuring, classified by with or without self-suicidal intention. The self-injuring group with self-suicidal intention had more dissociative experiences, less tendency to blame for others, and more motivation for self-injury in his or her internal world and its frequency than the one without self-suicidal intention. Third, as a result of surveying the predictable variables which classify the self-injuring behaviors with or without their self-suicidal intention, the more dissociative experiences they have, the higher possibility there is they belong to the self-injuring adolescents with self-suicidal intention, while the more strategies of blaming for others or maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, the less possibility they are classified to the self-injuring group with self-suicidal intention. The significance and limitation of this study were discussed along with some suggestions for its further research in the end.
