본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 무효화 환경이 우울에 미치는 영향에서 부정적 자동적 사고의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 연구대상은 고등학생 268명이며, 자료 분석은 SPSS 25.0 프로그램과 Hayes(2013)의 PROCESS macro Model 4를 사용하여 변수 간의 상관관계 및 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 무효화 환경이 우울에 미치는 영향에서 부정적 자동적 사고의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 둘째, 어머니 무효화 환경이 우울에 미치는 영향에서도 부정적 자동적 사고의 매개효과가 유의미하게 나타났다. 셋째, 아버지 무효화 환경이 우울에 미치는 영향에서는 부정적 자동적 사고의 매개효과가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 무효화 환경이 청소년의 부정적 자동적 사고를 매개로 우울감을 증가시킬 수 있으며, 특히 어머니 무효화 환경이 이러한 인지 경로를 통해 우울에 더 강하게 작용할 수 있음을 보여준다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of negative automatic thoughts in the parental invalidating environment on adolescent depression. The subjects of this study were 268 high school students. Data processing was performed using the SPSS 25.0 program and Hayes (2013) Macro Process (Model 4) for the correlation and mediating effect among relevant variables. The results of study are as follows. First, in the effect of parental invalidating environment on adolescent depression, the mediating role of negative automatic thoughts was statistically significant. Second, in the effect of maternal invalidating environment on depression, negative automatic thoughts served as a significant mediator. Third, in the effect of paternal invalidating environment on depression, the mediating effect of negative automatic thoughts was not statistically significant. This result suggests that an invalidating environment may increase adolescents’ depression through the mediation of negative automatic thoughts, and that maternal invalidation, in particular, may exert a stronger influence on depression through this cognitive pathway.
