이 논문은 최근에 전 세계에 불고 있는 한류의 열풍 속에서 대중문화를 통한 아시아 선교의 가능성을 연구한 논문이다. 전반부에는 대중문화가 인간삶에 미치는 영향의 중요성과 기독교가 이 대중문화를 어떻게 대하는 것이옳은지를 로마노프스키의 개혁주의적 입장에서 다루었다. 대중문화를 성경적으로 이해하고 우리에게 주신 창조의 청지기의 사명 속에서 대중문화를대하여야 함을 강조한다. 더 나아가 우리에게 주신 지상명령(마 28:19)과 문화명령(창1:28)의 연결 속에서 우리가 이 대중문화를 더욱 선교적으로 다루어져야 한다고 주장한다. 실천적인 면에서 이것은 대중문화를 올바로 해석하고, 기독교 세계관을 담은 탁월한 대중문화를 창조하는 것으로 이어진다. 이런 신학적이고 이론적인 바탕 속에서 현재 일어나고 있는 한류열풍의 실태를 파악하고 분석할 때 특별히 아시아권에서 강하고 불고 있는 한류 대중문화의 열풍은 선교적으로 매우 의미 있는 가능성을 보여준다. 대중문화는종교, 문화, 언어의 장벽을 넘는 힘이 있기 때문이다. 그러므로 탁월한 질을가진 기독교 대중문화를 창조한다면 기독교 세계관을 전하고 선교를 위한접촉점을 마련하는 좋은 선교적 도구로서 사용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This article is a study about a possibility of Asian mission through popular culture in Hallyu(Korean Wave) fever which is blowing all over the world. It deals with the influence of pop culture in the human life and a way Christians face pop culture rightly in the Reformed theology by Romanowski. It emphasizes that we have to understand pop culture biblically and face it in the stewardship of creation. In the terms of the connection between the great commission and the cultural mandate, it argues that we have to pop culture more missionally. In the practical aspect, we need to interpret pop cultures rightly and to create excellent cultural arts that reflect Christian worldview. Studying and analyzing the situation of Hallyu fever especially in Asia, we can see the possibility in Asian missions because pop cultures have power to be able to overcome the walls of languages, cultures,peoples. Therefore, if we can create pop cultures which have excellent quality and spirituality, we can share Christian worldview and provide the contact points for missions in Asia.
