이 글의 목적은 헤르만 바빙크의 『개혁교의학』에 따라 삼위일체론을 파악하 는데 있다. 바빙크는 삼위일체론을 좁은 의미의 신학의 토대로뿐 아니라 모 든 학문의 토대로도 여김으로써 모든 영역에 대한 기독교학문의 가능성을 열어두었다. 그는 삼위일체 하나님을 아는 통로를 성경으로 삼으면서도 성 경에 나오지 않는 조직신학의 용어들이 성경적임을 옹호하고 있다. 바빙크 는 구약성경에서는 삼위일체의 흔적들을, 신약성경에서는 삼위일체의 명시 적 언급들을 제시하고 있으며 교회 역사를 통해 철학의 잘못된 영향으로부 터 성경의 증거를 보호하고 있다. 바빙크는 삼위일체의 흔적들을 후험적 증 거로 삼음으로써 삼위일체론을 모든 영역에 대한 기독교학문의 토대로 삼고 자 한다. 그러나 특별계시인 성경에서 삼위일체 하나님에 대한 진술들을 접 하고, 일반계시인 자연 속에서 삼위일체의 흔적들을 접한다고 해도 성령 하 나님의 내적 증거가 없다면 삼위일체 하나님을 인식할 수 없다. 바빙크는 이 러한 주장을 통해 삼위일체 하나님이 인간의 단순한 사변 대상에 머물지 않 고 인간과 인격적 교제를 나누시는 언약의 하나님으로 경험될 필요성을 강 조한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to understand Herman Bavinck’s doctrine of trinity from his soteriology. His concept of salvation is cosmic, for he sug- gests that the trinitarian God is revealed both in the area of creation and of recreation. He makes Christian scholarship in all areas of creation by suggesting that the doctrine of the trinity is the foundation of all scholarships. The standard by which his knowledge of the trinity should be evaluated is the Scripture, while some technical terms in systematic theol- ogy are more helpful in understanding of the trinity than ordinary terms in the Scriptures. Bavinck finds some traces of the trinity both in the Old Testaments and in the nature. He tries to protect the evidence of the Scripture about the trinity from the influence of false philosophies in the history of the church. Unlike most Reformed theologians Bavinck regards the traces of the trinity as the a posteriori evidences for the trinity. In this way the doctrine of the trinity is the profound foundation of all Christian scholarships. Bavinck emphasizes the role of the Holy Spirit in understanding of the trinitarian God. The inner testimony of the Holy Spirit makes us have a living fellowship with the trinitarian God.
