다문화현상은 세계적인 현상임과 동시에 한국에서도 가속되고 있다. 본 연구는 최근까지 나타나고 있는 다문화기독교교육의 연구 결과들을 검토하면서다문화기독교교육의 개념, 기독교교육과 다문화교육의 관련성, 그리고 미래의 다문화기독교교육의 전망에 대해서 논의하고자 한다. 이 연구는 개혁주의적인 관점을 견지하면서 포괄적인 기독교문화교육으로의 방향을 제시하였다. 다문화교육에 대한 충분한 이해와 연구는 기독교교육에 주는 시사점이 많다. 따라서 기독교교육은 다문화교육의 연구 방향과 진행에 깊은 관심을 기울일 필요가 있다. 다문화기독교교육은 특히 통전적(holistic) 기독교교육의정립을 위한 내적 반성의 좋은 기회를 제공해 준다. 복음주의 기독교교육은 개혁주의 신학자들을 중심으로 연구되어진 기독교문화에 관한 연구의 업적들을 충분히 활용하면서 이를 기초로 기독교문화교육을 활성화하면서, 기독교문화교육의 선상에서 기독교다문화교육을 발전시켜 나갈 수 있을 것이다. 다문화교육은 넓은 의미에서 문화교육의 한 분야이며, 문화의 다양성은 문화 이해의 중요한 한 부분으로서 미래 사회의 피할수 없는 도전이기 때문이다. 무엇보다도 다문화기독교교육의 연구는 기독교세계관과 보다 건전한 신학적 논의를 기초로 전개되어야 할 것임을 강조하였다.
Abstract
Multicultural phenomena have been worldwide phenomena and it has been accelerated in Korea at the same time. The purpose of this research is, as we survey the results of Multicultrual Christian Education researches, to identify the concept of multicultural Christian education, relationship between Christian education and multicultural education, and finally to discuss about the prospect of multicultural Christian education in the future. This research suggests the direction of comprehensive Christian cultural education to which we need to follow from the reformed perspective. Sufficient understanding and research about multicultural education offers various perspectives toward Christian education. Therefore, it is necessary for Christian educators to pay deep attention to the research direction and progress of multicultural education. Multicultural education offers a good opportunity for inner reflection for the purpose of establishment of holistic Christian education. Evangelical Christian education would be able to develop Christian multicultural education at the level of Christian cultural education, as it sufficiently utilizes the fruits of the researches on Christian culture,which has been investigated mainly by reformed theologians, on the basis of which it utilizes Christian cultural education. It is due to the fact that multicultural education is a part of cultural education in a broad sense, and the cultural diversity is an avoidable challenge in the future society as an important part of cultural understanding. Above all else, multicultural Christian education emphasized the development of it on the basis of healthier theological discussion and of Christian worldview.
