존 듀이의 경험철학을 통한 스포츠 경험의 고찰

스포츠에서의 경험은 퍼포먼스를 이해하는 매주 중요한 사건이자 인식론적 주제이다. 본 연구는 존 듀이의 경험철학이라는 프리즘을 통해 스포츠에서 일어나는 경험을 보다 심층적으로 이해할 것이다. 듀이의 경험철학은 스포츠에서 일어나는 경험의 구조를 새롭게 해석하는 매우 유용한 인식의 틀을 제공한다. 그에 따르면 경험은 단순히 신체적 행위를 넘어 반드시 사고의 과정을 포함한다. 그리고 경험을 구성하는 사고는 반성적 사고와 질성적 사고로 나누어진다. 본 연구는 스포츠의 경험에서 반성적 사고와 질성적 사고가 각각 어떻게 발휘되는지를 정치하게 분석할 것이다. 반성적 사고는 특수한 조건을 충족하는 계획적이고 체계적인 생각을 뜻한다. 이에 비해 질성적 사고는 다른 경험과 구별되는 그 자체의 고유한 질적 성질을 파악하는 능력을 말한다. 특히 질성적 사고는 스포츠 경험이 어떻게 존재의 확장과 연결되는지를 설명해 줄 것이다.
Abstract
Experience in sport is an important affair and epistemological theme that makes us understand sport performance. This study will present a deeper understanding of the experiences that occur in sport through the prism of John Dewey's Experience Philosophy. Dewey's philosophy of experience is a very useful framework to understand the structure of experience in sport. Experience, according to him, requires physical activity and a process of thought. And moreover, the thoughts that consist experience are divided into reflective and qualitative thoughts. This study analyzes in detail how reflective and qualitative thought function in the experiences of sport. Reflective thought refers to a planned and systematic idea that adapt well to special conditions. On the contrary, qualitative thought refers to the ability to identify its own qualitative features that are distinct from other experiences. Particularly, qualitative thought will explain how sport experience is linked to extension of existence through sport performance.
