본 논문은 연천 홍석주가 1810년(순조10년)에 편찬한 분류순 선정도서해제인 홍씨독서록에 수록된 각 서적의 해제의 내용을 토대로 하여 서적의 선정 기준을 분석한 것이다. 홍씨독서록에 나타난 서적선정기준들을 유형별로 구분하여 분석해 보고, 이를 현대 일반도서관의 장서평가기준과 비교한 바, 홍씨독서록의 서적 선정기준이 현대도서관의 그것에 못지않게 우수한 것임을 밝혀냈다.
Abstract
This paper investigates the adopted criteria for selecting titles based upon book annotations included in Hong's Annotated Bibliography of Older Books, which was published by Hong Seok-ju, a scholar of the reign of Sunjo of Yi dynasty, in 1810. This study examined various types of criteria practised in Hong's Annotated Bibliography of Older Books and then compared them to the Modern general library criteria of book selection, and found that Hong's one is a superior criteria as mush as a Modern's.
