초록
In depopulated areas where it is difficult to attract resident populations, regional revitalization strategies continuously seek to utilize local festivals to draw living populations and relational populations, encouraging them to stay in the area. However, there have been few empirical researches on where visitors of large-scale local festivals come from, how much they spend within the region, and how festival satisfaction influences their intention to revisit and form a relationship with the area. Therefore, this study conducted an empirical analysis of the characteristics, types, and satisfaction factors of festival visitors by using a structured questionnaire to survey visitors at a festival in a depopulated area. Based on a structured analysis utilizing the characteristics of visitors' residences and visit frequencies, the visitors were categorized into three groups: Group 1, residents living in the same city/county; Group 2, residents living in nearby large cities with high visit frequency; and Group 3, residents living in non-adjacent areas with low visit frequency. Additionally, the analysis revealed that festival content had the most significant impact on the formation of visitor satisfaction. To increase activities such as staying and spending within the region by non-residents, it is crucial to have festival content that embodies the identity and distinctiveness of the local festival. Moreover, it is necessary to improve visit convenience and develop regional linkage strategies that can lead to repeated visits. This study is significant in that it empirically analyzes local festivals in depopulated areas according to festival scale from the perspective of regional revitalization. The results of this analysis can serve as important reference materials for the planning and operation of local festivals in depopulated areas in the future.
Abstract
In depopulated areas where it is difficult to attract resident populations, regional revitalization strategies continuously seek to utilize local festivals to draw living populations and relational populations, encouraging them to stay in the area.
