본 연구는 지식·기술 집약형 여성창업기업을 대상으로 창업활동을 이론적으로 점검하고, 여성 지식기술창업의 실태분석을 통해 창업활성화 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 여성 지식기술 창업활동의 실태분석을 위해 본 연구는 제조업 및 지식기반서비스업을 영위하는 400개창업기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과, 창업 당시 평균 연령이 높아지는 경향을보였고, 대부분의 창업자가 기업에서 배태되는 것으로 나타났다. 창업자들은 학교교육과정 등 정부가제공하는 창업교육을 별로 받지 못했으며, 창업과정에서 겪었던 가장 큰 애로요인은 자금조달로 나타났다. 여성 지식기술 창업기업의 고용창출 성과를 살펴본 결과, 제조업에 비해 지식기반서비스업에서고용창출력이 훨씬 높은 것으로 나타났다. 향후 여성 지식기술 창업 활성화를 위해서는 여성의 창업의욕 고취를 위한 기업가정신 함양, 창업교육 강화, 여성창업자금 확충, 창업지원제도의 활용도 제고 등이 필요하다.
Abstract
This study aims to identify policy measures for the promotion of knowledge and technology-based female entrepreneurship through an examination of theories and analysis of the current status of start-up companies. To analyze the current status of knowledge and technology-based female entrepreneurship, a survey of 400 start-ups in the manufacturing and knowledge-based service industries was conducted. The age at which a female entrepreneur starts a business was shown to increase with time, and the majority of the female entrepreneurs came from existing companies. Many female entrepreneurs had not received enough training or education on entrepreneurship in universities or programs provided by the government. The biggest obstacle faced by the female entrepreneurs after launching their businesses turned out to be capital-raising. The start-up companies in the knowledge-based service industry showed higher growth rates in terms of employment and sales, compared to those in the manufacturing industry. For the promotion of knowledge and technology-based female entrepreneurship, it is necessary to enhance female entrepreneurship education, increase the funds for supporting female entrepreneurship, and improve utilization of the female entrepreneurship support system.
