전기․전력공급에 대한 신문사들의 관점 분석

보수와 진보 계열의 신문이 전력 전기 공급과 관련하여 관점을 어떻게 달리 구성하는지 분석하였다. 분석 대상은 2011년 3월 일본 후쿠시마 원전 폭발 사고 이후부터 2012년 5월 31일까지 보수 경향의 신문인 동아일보 및 조선일보와 진보 경향의 신문인 경향신문, 한겨레신문의 인터넷 사이트에서 검색어를 ‘전기’, ‘전력’으로 하여 검색한 스트레이트기사, 사설/칼럼, 기획/해설 876건이다. 분석 결과 미래, 산업 발전의 바탕이자 핵심인 전기․전력 수급문제에 대해서도 각 신문의 기사에 나타난 입장이 확연하게 차이가 난다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 전력수급, 정전, 절전, 전기료 인상, 원자력 발전소, 신재생에너지 및 외국의 관련 기사를 다루는데 있어 정부와 여당에 대한 입장에 따라 보도 태도가 명확히 구분된다는 것을 확인하였다.
Abstract
This study explores how different newspapers differently cover the news on the electricity power supply. We used four major national daily newspapers including ChosunIlbo, DongaIlbo, KyunghyangShinmun, and HankyorehShinmun. The analysis of 876 news articles collected from each of the newspaper's websites about topics including tsunami-devastated Fukushima nuclear power plant accident and electricity and electric power supply. This collection was performed from March 11 2011, to May 31 2012. Results show that they reported clearly different views of news and commentary about of electricity and electric power supply through straight news, feature stories and editorials/columns. The result shows that the news companies have distinctive views on electricity and electric power supply, blackout accident, power saving, electric energy price, new-renewable energy and overseas articles as the company positions are different, which are commonly divided into two streams of opinions/positions: progressive and conservative.
