대학생 학습동기와 어휘 학습전략이 영어 읽기와 듣기 능력에 미치는 영향 - 항공서비스학과 학생을 중심으로 -

본 논문의 주요목적은 항공학과 대학생들의 영어 학습에 있어서 학습동기와 어휘 학습전략에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 두 번째 연구의 목적은 학습자의 학습 전략과 영어의 읽기와 듣기 능력 사이의 상관관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 상관관계 분석결과는 내적 동기와 외적 동기는 영어 읽기와 듣기 능력에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 영어학습 전략은 학습자의 영어 듣기와 읽기 능력에 유의적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 의미발견 전략은 영어 읽기 능력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만, 의미발견 전략은 영어 듣기 능력에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 기억강화 전략과 영어 듣기와 읽기 능력사이에 유의적인 영향을 미치지만 상관관계에서는 그리 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 한계뿐만 아니라 시사점도 논의되었다.

Abstract

The primary object of this study was to investigate the effects of airline service college students' motivation and vocabulary learning strategies on their English learning. The secondary purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the learning strategies and their reading and listening and reading proficiency. Results of a series correlation analyses showed that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation significantly affected the learning strategies. Also, it was found that learning strategies made a significant impact on the English listening proficiency. Specifically, meaning discovery strategies were significantly correlated with students' English reading proficiency, whereas discovery strategies showed no significant relationship to English listening proficiency. On the English listening significantly correlated with students' English reading proficiency, whereas proficiency. On the other hand, there was a significant correlation between memorization strategies and students' English reading and listening proficiency, but the strength of the relationship was relatively weak. Implication as well as limitations of the present study were also discussed.
