경증 치매 노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 임파워먼트 실천의 효과성 연구

본 연구는 경증 치매노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 임파워먼트 실천의 효과성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 임파워먼트 이론 검토와 노인복지 실천가, 노인복지 전공 교수, 치매노인, 치매노인 부양자로 구성된 포커스그룹을 통해 경증 치매 노인을 위한 임파워먼트 실천 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 임파워먼트 실천 프로그램 검증을 위해 실험집단 8명, 통제집단 8명으로 구성된 연구대상자를 선정하였다. 분석결과, 프로그램 실시 후 실험집단의 임파워먼트와 삶의 질은 유의한 증가를 보인 반면, 통제집단은통계적인 유의성이 발견되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발된 임파워먼트 실천 프로그램이 경증 치매노인의 임파워먼트와 삶의 질을 향상시키는데 매우 효과적인 것으로확인되었다. 또한 본 프로그램은 경증 치매 노인의 실제적인 삶의 질 향상에 원조할 뿐아니라, 임파워먼트 실천 프로그램의 효과성을 평가함으로써, 임파워먼트 개입의 근거를제시했다는 점에 실천적 함의가 있다.
Abstract
empowerment on the quality of life in elderly person with minor dementia. To this end,this study reviewed empowerment theories and developed an empowerment practiceprogram for elderly person with minor dementia using a focus group including thepractitioners of welfare for the elderly, professor specialized in welfare for the elderly,elderly person with dementia. and caregiver for elderly person with dementia. Inaddition, the subjects consisting of a test group (n=8) and a control group (n=8) wereselected to verify the empowerment practice program. The analysis results showedstatistically significant increases in empowerment and the quality of life for the testgroup after implementing the program, but no statistically significant differences inempowerment and the quality of life for the control group. Therefore, the empowermentpractice program developed by this study was confirmed to be highly effective inimproving empowerment and the quality of life for elderly person with minor dementia. In addition, this study has practical implications in term of not only its developedprogram's aid in improving the actual quality of life in elderly person with minordementia, but also suggesting the basis for the intervention of empowerment byevaluating the effectiveness of the empowerment intervention program
