윤리적 돌봄 관점에서의 장애인활동보조서비스 당사자경험에 대한 사례연구

본 연구는 ‘사회적 돌봄으로서의 활동보조서비스가 어떠해야 하는가’의 질문으로 시작하여, 활동보조서비스를 받고 있는 장애인당사자들로부터 그 답을 찾으려고 시도하였다. 연구를 위하여 다양한 특성들을 감안한 20명의 중증장애인들을 면접하여, 사례연구 방법을 통해 연구참여자들의 생각들을 분석한 다음 그 결과들을 바탕으로 시사점을 도출하였다. 활동보조서비스를 돌봄의 형태로 이해한 연구참여자들의 생각은 세 가지로 정리될 수 있었다. 첫 번째는 ‘돌봄으로서의 활동보조는 윤리적 서비스여야 한다’는 것이며, 두 번째는 ‘윤리적 돌봄으로의 활동보조서비스는 어떻게 이루어져야 하는지’에 관한 생각들이었으며, 세 번째는 ‘활동보조가 윤리적 서비스가 되기 위해서는 무엇이 필요한가’에 관한 생각들이었다. 이러한 본 연구가 장애인활동보조서비스를 돌봄의 관점에서 이해하고 고민하는 학문적 시도에 기초적 자료가 될 수 있기를 바란다.
Abstract
This study begins with the question of ‘how PAS(Personal Assistant Services) should be like?’ and tries to seek for answers from disabled people’s thoughts of PAS. 20 people having severe disability participated in this study and qualitative case study methodology was employed for analyzing data which were produced by the participants. The thoughts from participants have been organized into three areas: firstly ‘PAS as caring should be ethical’, secondly ‘how ethical care services should be performed’, thirdly ‘what is needed for PAS to be a ethical care service. The author hopes that this study could contribute to understanding PAS from the viewpoint of care and also to be used as a basic data in a various area concerning care for disabled people.
