초록
Child and Youth Resilience Measure-28 (CYRM-28) is a screening tool to measure youth resilience within individual and cultural contexts. This study is a preliminary exploration to verify the validity and the reliability of Korean version of CYRM (K-CYRM), which modified and adapted CYRM-28 to the Korean context, to see whether it is applicable to Korean adolescents. To this end, a month-long survey was conducted among 341 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi province in August 2019. Collected data were analyzed for validity, reliability, and differences in general characteristics using SPSS 24.0. First, the exploratory factor analysis for construct validity found that 26 items loaded on three factors: “individual domain,” “relationship domain” and “context domain.” Criterion-related validity showed significant correlations between the K-CYRM and Korean version of Resilience Scale (RS-14) in terms of individual and relationship domains. Second, the study confirmed significant internal consistency and split-half reliability. Third, there were no significant between-group differences in terms of gender. In addition, comparing the average total scores of the two groups according to their general characteristics showed that there were between-group differences in resilience in terms of sociocultural and contextual factors such as school year, family members, religion, participation in extracurricular activities in school or outside of school, and so on.
