The purpose of this study is to look into the influence of childcare teachers’ character on their job satisfaction. To this end, this study conducted a survey of 137 childcare teachers in Gyeonggi-do Region using Character Self Assessment and Job Satisfaction Scale. For data analysis, this study used frequency, mean, standard deviation, correlation analysis, and MANOVA using SPSS 23.0.As a result of study, it was found that a childcare teacher’s character and job satisfaction differed according to age, career, and marital status. It was discovered that a childcare teacher who is older and is married demonstrated higher awareness of positive self concept and job performance. Also, a childcare teacher’s job satisfaction consequent to Character Self Assessment showed a significant difference. The higher a childcare teacher scored on the Character Self Assessment, the teacher’s job satisfaction also displayed an overall high level. Lastly, it was found that only social relations, job performance and love for humans among the five sub-factors in a childcare teacher’s Character Self Assessment were significant variables on job satisfaction. With these study results, the understanding of the relationship between a childcare teacher’s job satisfaction and character increased, requesting for a developed education and program on character for childcare teachers. Also, discussion on the composition of character education content was offered in order to form positive character for the childcare teachers.
