초록

본 연구는 청소년의 탄력성 과정에서 희망과 삶의 의미의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 서울, 경기 지역의 초·중·고 학생 2235명과 서울, 경기, 부산, 광주, 인천 등 19곳의 복지관 이용 청소년 442명 등 총2677명에게 설문조사를 실시, 분석하였다. 그 결과, 희망과 삶의 의미는 위험수준이 높았을 때와 통제 불가능한 위험사건에서 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 자존감, 효능감, 낙관성 등의 보호요인은 위험수준이 낮았을 때와 통제 가능한 위험사건에서 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 희망과 삶의 의미 변인이 역경상황을 이겨나가는데 보다 중요한 영향을 미치고 있음을 발견하였다.

Abstract

The current study investigated the mediating effects of hope and meaning of life on adolescents' resilience. The participants were 2677 students living in the Seoul metropolitan areas, among which 442 were supported from social welfare agencies. It was revealed that hope and meaning of life had greater effects in the high-level uncontrollable risk events, while protective factors (e.g., self-esteem, self-efficacy, optimism etc.) had larger effects in the low-level controllable risk events. The findings of the study indicate that hope and meaning of life act as important factors in helping adolescents cope with difficult situations.
