본 연구는 청소년의 게임중독, 사회적 지지 및 문제행동 간 관계모형을 설정하고, 게임중독과 문제행동의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 선행변인으로서 게임중독, 매개변인으로서 사회적 지지가 청소년들의 문제행동에 영향을 미친다고 가정하였다. 연구대상자는 인문계 고등학교 재학생 1,008명이었다. 본 연구의 가설을 검증하고자 상관분석과 공변량구조분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 게임중독을 예언변인으로, 사회적 지지를 매개변인으로, 문제행동을 결과변인으로 설정한 본 연구의 부분매개모형이 완전매개모형보다 더 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 선행변인인 게임중독은 청소년의 문제행동을 증가시키는 유발요인 역할을 하며, 사회적 지지는 청소년의 문제행동 경향성을 감소시키는 억제요인 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부분매개모형에 제시된 3개의 경로[(게임중독→문제행동), (게임중독→사회적 지지), (사회적 지지→문제행동)] 모두 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 게임중독과 문제행동 간 관계에서 사회적 지지가 매개변수로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구의 결과를 근거로 하여 후속연구를 위하여 몇 가지 제언을 하였다.
Abstract
This study was to verify a related model between among adolescents' game addiction, perceived social support, and problem behavior. And to test the mediator effects of perceived social support in the relation between game addiction and problem behavior. Game addiction was selected as prerequisite variables. And social support was selected as a mediated variable. Which affected adolescents' problem behavior. The subjects were 1,008 academic high school students. Correlational analysis and covariance structure analysis were conducted to test research hypotheses. The results are summarized as follows. First, of the models with game addiction as predictor, perceived social support as mediator, and problem behavior as outcome variable, the partial mediation model fit the data better than the complete mediation model. Second, it was proved that game addiction played as inducting factors to their problem behavior tendencies, and perceived social support played as inhibiting factors which leads to decrease their problem behavior tendencies. Third, in the partial mediation model, the path coefficients of (game addiction→problem behavior), (game addiction→perceived social support), (perceived social support→problem behavior) were all significant. Fourth, the mediator effect of perceived social support in the relation between game addiction and problem behavior was significant. Based on the results several suggestions were made for future studies.
