저소득 지역과 일반 지역 중학생의 전문상담교사의 역할에 대한 요구 비교
A Comparative Study between the Low-Income Zone Middle School Student and other Area Middle School Student's Needs on the Roles of the School Counselor

본 연구는 최근 중학교에 배치되고 있는 전문상담교사의 역할에 대하여 저소득지역 중학생과 일반지역 중학생의 요구가 어떻게 다른가를 비교하고자 부산시내 7개 중학교의 중학생 915명(저소득 지역 중학생 491명과 일반 지역 중학생 424명)을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과 첫째, 저소득 및 일반지역 중학생이 중요하게 요구하는 전문상담교사의 역할의 순서에는 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 역할의 기대 순서에는 차이가 없으나 역할 안에서 일부 요인간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 향후 중학교에 배치될 전문상담교사는 일반 지역 중학생의 경우 문제행동과 위기상황에 대한 상담에 중점을 두어야 할 것이며, 저소득 지역 학생의 경우 집단 생활지도 및 상담교육과 정보 제공에 유의해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 학년에 있어서도 요구 차이를 고려해야 할 것으로 나타났다. 전문상담교사는 일반지역 학생의 경우 1학년과 여학생의 높은 상담요구도를 고려해야 할 것이며, 저소득 지역의 경우 3학년들의 상담교육과 정보를 필요로 하는 요구를 고려해야 할 것으로 본다. 따라서 본 연구는 중학교 전문상담교사의 역할에 있어서 사회경제적 배경을 고려한 지역적 특성에 따라 역할 설정의 중요도를 어떻게 고려할 것인가에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 의의가 있다고 본다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the needs of middle school student to the role of the professional school counselor between low-income zone school and other schools. A questionnaire was administered to 915 middle school students in 7 middle schools. Results of the analysis are as follows: Firsr, there was a no difference in the orders of the needs on the roles between low-income zone middel school students and other area middel school students. Second, There was a significant difference in the some factors of the needs on the roles of school counselor. Therefore, in the future, school counselor of general area middle school will focus on the counseling activity, especially, the needs to the counseling for student's maladjustment. And school counselor of low-income zone middle school will focus on large group guidance and giving imformations. Third, in terms of the grade and the sex, school counselor will consider difference in needs on the roles. School counselor of general area middle school will focus on first grade and high needs on the counseling of girl students. And in case of low-income zone middle school, school counselor will consider needs on the education of counseling and other informations of third grade students. With these results, implications for roles of the middle school counselor and future research were suggested.
