결혼과정을 통해서 본 모-자녀 관계변화에 관한 질적 연구: 기독교가정을 중심으로

본 연구는 자녀의 결혼과정에서 나타나는 모-자녀 관계의 과정적 탐색을 통해 모-자녀 관계변화의 패턴을 발견하고, 이를 기초로 ‘결혼과정을 통해서 본 모-자녀 관계모형’을 제안하기 위하여 기독교가정의 자녀 12명과 그들의 어머니 12명을 대상으로 Strauss와 Corbin(1990)이 제시한 근거이론 접근방법을 사용하여 진행되었다. 연구 결과, 결혼과정에 나타나는 모-자녀 관계에 대하여 자녀는 50개의 개념과 25개의 범주가, 어머니는 50개의 개념과 28개의 범주가 도출되었다. 핵심범주로는 ‘정서적, 상황적 변화로 인한 모-자녀 관계의 확장 또는 분리’를 찾아내었으며, ‘결혼과정을 통해서 본 모-자녀 관계변화’에 대한 근거이론으로서 ‘통제상실형’, ‘통제형’, ‘상호의존형’, ‘독립형’, ‘의례형’, ‘희생형’, ‘동일시형’ 등 7가지 유형을 제시하였다. 또한 각 유형별 특성과 더불어 자녀와 어머니를 비교 분석하여 차이점을 서술하였으며, 근거자료에서 도출한 내용을 기초로 하여 ‘결혼과정을 통해서 본 모-자녀 관계모형’을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This research proposes 'a mother-child relationship model through marriage process' based on the identification of the patterns of changes displayed in the course of their relationship. The grounded theory proposed by Strauss and Corbin(1990) was used to examine experiences in mother-child relationship in detail. Regarding children fifty concepts and twenty five categories were defined, and regarding mothers fifty concepts and twenty eight categories were identified. The core category was ‘expansion or separation of mother-child relationship due to changes in emotion and situation,’and the seven types of the grounded theory of this research, ‘changes in mother-child relationship through marriage process’ were ‘loss of control type’, ‘controlling type’, ‘mutually depending type,’ ‘autonomous type’, ‘superficial type’, ‘sacrificing type’, and ‘identifying type’. Together with the characters of each type, a comparative analysis was conducted on the mothers and children. 'The mother-child relationship model through marriage process' was identified based on the information deduced through the grounded theory.
