대학생의 자기노출, 사회적 지지와 외상후 성장과의 관계에서 의도적 반추의 매개효과

The Mediating Effects of Intentional Rumination on the Relation between University Students’ Self-Disclosure, Social Support, and Posttraumatic Growth

본 연구는 목적은 외상을 경험한 대학생들의 성장과정이 Tedeschi와 Calhoun(2006)가 제안한 외상후 성장 모델과 같은 구조를 갖는지 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 외상을 경험한 대학생들은 자신의 외상을 노출하는 것만으로도 성장경험을 하는지, 외상에 대한 지지와 격려가 성장을 촉진하는지, 노출과 사회적 지지가 상호작용하여 의도적 반추를 매개로 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 서울, 경기지역에 소재하는 대학교에 재학중인 학생 244명(남학생 109명, 여학생 135명)을 대상으로 구조방정식을 통한 모형검증과 자기노출과 사회적지지, 외상후 성장과의 관계에서 의도적 반추의 매개효과를 Bootstrap으로 검증하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 제안한 구조모형은 적합한 것으로 나타났고, 자기노출, 사회적 지지가 외상후 성장에 미치는 직접효과는 없었으며, 자기노출, 사회적 지지와 외상후 성장의 관계에서 의도적 반추가 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자기노출과 사회적 지지의 상호작용은 의도적 반추를 활성화하며 이는 외상후 성장을 촉진하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 결과에 따른 상담적 함의, 연구의 제한점, 추후 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to confirm whether posttraumatic university students’ growth process has the same structure as the posttraumatic growth model suggested by Tedeschi & Calhoun(2006). This study examined that self-disclosure worked better posttraumatic growth for students who experienced trauma and posttraumatic growth was promoted by supporting and encouraging. Also, this study investigated that interaction of disclosure and social support influenced in posttraumatic growth with intentional rumination as a mediator. 244 university students(106 male, 135 female students) among universities located in Gyeonggi-province were targeted to validate the model through structural equation, and the mediation effect of intentional rumination in the relationship between self-disclosure, social support, and posttraumatic growth was tested with a bootstrap procedure. As a result, the structural model suggested by this study appeared to be suitable; there was no direct effect of self-disclosure and social support on posttraumatic growth, and the intentional rumination showed to fully mediate in the relationship between self-disclosure, social support, and posttraumatic growth. This means that the interaction between self-disclosure and social support invigorate intentional rumination, and that growth is promoted after trauma. Conforming to this result, this study discussed the consultative undertone, limitations of the study, and proposals for future studies.
