부모화가 대인관계에 미치는 영향에서 공감의 매개효과

초록

본 연구의 목적은 어린 시절 부모화가 이후 대인관계에 미치는 영향에 있어 공감능력의 매개효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 부산지역 2개 대학에 재학 중인 260명을 대상으로 부모화, 공감능력, 대인관계 검사를 실시하고 구조방정식 모형을 분석하였다. 완전매개모형과 부분매개모형을 비교한 결과 부분매개 모형이 더 적합하였다. 이를 구체적으로 살펴보면 부모화 돌봄이 대인관계에 이르는 직접 경로는 유의미하였고, 대인관계를 향상시켰다. 부모화 불공평이 대인관계에 이르는 경로도 유의미하였고 대인관계를 감소시켰다. 부모화 불공평이 공감능력을 매개로 대인관계에 이르는 경로는 유의미하지 않았지만, 부모화 돌봄이 공감능력을 높여 대인관계를 향상시키는 경로는 유의미하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 논의를 하고 제한점을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The present study was to examine empathy as a mediator between childhood parentification and interpersonal relationship. To this end, a total of 260 students in Busan were asked to respond to the questionnaire designed to measure their parentification, empathy, and interpersonal relationship. The data were analyzed by using structural equation modeling to compare complete mediation models to partial mediation models. The results indicated that empathy partly mediated the relationships between parentification and well-being. Specifically, parentification-caretaking and parentification-injuctice were found to have direct effects on interpersonal relationship. Parentification-caretaking positively affected interpersonal relationship but parentification-injustice negatively influenced interpersonal relationship. In addition, empathy turned out to mediate between parentification-caretaking and interpersonal relationship. However, empathy did not mediate the relationship between parentification-injuctice and interpersonal relationship. The limitations of the present study and the implications for further research are discussed.
