대학생의 가족분화가 대인관계 유능성에 미치는 영향: 자아개념의 매개효과

본 연구는 자아개념이 대학생의 가족분화와 대인관계 유능성과의 사이에서 매개효과를 갖는가를 탐색하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구모형으로는 가족분화가 대인관계 유능성에 직접적으로 영향을 미침을 제시하는 경로와 가족분화가 자아개념을 매개로 하여 대인관계 유능성에 간접적으로도 영향을 미침을 보여주는 경로로 구성되었다. 경쟁모형은 연구모형에서 가족분화가 대인관계 유능성에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 경로를 삭제한 경로로 구성된다. 이를 경기 2곳, 충청 1곳, 전라 1곳 4개 대학 대학생 312명을 대상으로 구조방정식을 활용하여 검증하였다. 두 모형을 비교․평가한 결과 경쟁모형이 최종 선택되었다. 대학생의 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 주는 경로는 가족분화가 자아개념을 매개하여 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 주는 것이다. 즉, 가족분화는 자아개념에 정적인 영향을 미쳐서 가족분화 수준이 높아지면 자아개념도 높아지고, 자아개념 또한 대인관계 유능성에 정적인 영향을 미쳐 자아개념이 높아지면 대인관계 유능성도 높아짐을 확인하였다. 특히, 자아개념은 가족분화와 대인관계 유능성 간의 사이에서 완전매개효과를 갖는 것이 확인되었다. 따라서 대학생의 대인관계 유능성을 높이기 위해서는, 대학생의 가족분화와 자아개념이 대인관계 유능성에 영향을 미치는 경로를 통합적으로 이해하고 가족분화와 자아개념에 대한 선행적인 개입의 필요성을 제시하였다. 이에 대학생의 대인관계 유능성 증진을 위해서는, 가족분화에 기반한 긍정적 자아개념 형성을 돕는 대학생 상담, 건강한 가족분화를 위한 부모교육, 가족의 상호작용을 변화시키는 가족상담을 제안한다.

Abstract

This study aims to verify that mediation effect of self-concept in the relationships between family differentiation and interpersonal competence of college students. In this study, the theoretical model consists of two paths, a path suggests that the family differentiation affects directly on the interpersonal competence and the other path shows that the family differentiation affects indirectly on the interpersonal competence through the mediation variable, self-concept. The competition model consists of a path which excludes the direct effect of the family differentiation on the interpersonal competence in the theoretical model. In order to get the answers, the Structural Equation Model (SEM) was employed to fulfill the study objective and the subjects were 312 college students of 4 universities. The competition model was chosen as a result of comparison and evaluation of the two models. The path which affects interpersonal competence of university students showed that family differentiation influences on interpersonal competence through meditating effect of self-concept. The family differentiation positively affects the self-concept so that self-concept increases as the family differentiation increases, and self-concept positively affects interpersonal competence so that interpersonal competence is improved as self-concept increases. According to the study results, it has been verified that the self-concept has a complete mediation effect between the family differentiation and the interpersonal competence. Based on these results, it can be suggested that the family differentiation and the self-concept should be improved first so that the interpersonal competence of university students can be enhanced. To promote interpersonal competence of university students, it is suggested that college counseling for developing positive self-concept based on family differentiation, parents education for healthy family differentiation, family counseling to change the family interaction.
