본 연구는 대학생의 따돌림 경험에 대한 양적 자료 및 질적 자료를 분석하여 따돌림 경험 척도를 개발하고, 개발된 척도의 타당도를 검증하고자 하였다. 먼저 따돌림 관련 문헌과 기존 연구들을 고찰하였고 국내에서 번안 및 개발된 따돌림 피해 척도 8개에서 중복된 문항을 제거하고 적합하지 않은 문항을 수정․보완하여 18개 문항을 추출하였다. 또한, 개방형 설문과 초점집단면접을 실시하여 수집된 질적 자료들을 분석해 삼각검증 방식으로 분석하여 21개의 경험적 문항들을 추출하였다. 대학생 따돌림 경험과 관련한 두 자료를 통합하여 10명의 전문가 그룹에게 문항적절성 평가를 실시하였고, 39개 문항 모두 예비문항으로 선정되었다. 척도의 구성개념 타당도를 알아보기 위해 421명의 대학생을 대상으로 신뢰도 분석을 실시하고, 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 요인분석 결과, 최종적으로 2개 요인의 12문항으로 척도가 개발되었으며, 높은 내적 일치도와 안정적인 요인구조를 보였다. 요인 1은 6개 문항으로 ‘소외’라고 명명하였고, 요인 2는 6개 문항으로 ‘괴롭힘’이라고 명명하였다. 이후, 척도의 교차타당도를 검증하기 위해 국내 대학생 539명을 대상으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였고, 실시 결과 2요인의 12문항이 적합한 것으로 검증되었다. 본 척도의 추가적인 타당도 검증을 위해 자존감, 우울 척도와의 상관분석을 통한 수렴타당도를 확인하였고, 유사한 경험을 측정하는 것으로 판단되는 대인관계불안 척도에 대해 대학생 따돌림 경험 척도의 증분타당도를 확인하였다. 마지막으로 본 척도 개발의 의의와 제한점 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study was to designed to develop College Bullying Experience Scale by collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data on bullying experience in college campus and validate the scale. First, review on earlier studies on bullying and analysis on 8 bullying victim experience scales previously developed or translated in Korea were performed. And this process led to remove redundant and inappropriate items from the scales and generated 18 items. Next step included collecting qualitative data by conducting open-ended question survey and focus group interview with college students and analyzing the data through triangulation method. As a result, 21 empirical items were obtained. A total of 39 items were all included in the preliminary scale after having 10 experts review and validate the appropriateness of the items. To examine construct validation, the preliminary scale was administered to a pilot sample which consisted of 421 college students. Reliability testing was conducted and exploratory factor analysis on these 39 items reduced to 12 items with 2 factors. Two factors were composed of 6 items respectively and the first factor was named ‘isolation’, and the other factor was named ‘harrassment’. Confirmatory analysis was conducted on a pool of 539 college students to verify the cross validity, and the final version of 12 items with 2 factors were demonstrated to have high internal consistency and stable factor structure. It was further shown that the scale was correlated with self-esteem and depression, which concluded good convergent validity. Also, the final scale was compared to a scale measuring interpersonal anxiety which was considered to evaluate similar experience of bullying and the result proved good incremental validity of the developed scale. Finally, implications and limitations of the scale and suggestions for future study were discussed.
