아동용 인지적, 정서적, 신체적 공감 척도(K-CASES)의 국내 타당화 연구

초록

본 연구는 Adrian과 Frances(2018)가 개발한 아동용 인지적, 정서적, 신체적 공감 척도(CASES)를 국내 아동을 대상으로 타당화하기 위해 실시되었다. 이를 위해 원척도의 30문항을 번안 및 역번안 작업을 거쳐 최종 문항을 구성하였다. 자료 수집은 P지역을 포함한 3개 지역 초등학교 4∼6학년 아동 391명(남자 201명, 여자 190명)을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 표본 A, B에 무선 할당하여 분석하였다. 표본 A(n=195)를 대상으로 탐색적 요인분석을 실시한 결과 인지적, 정서적, 신체적 공감의 3요인이 추출되었고 최종 13문항으로 나타났다. 표본 B(n=196)를 대상으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과 연구모형이 경쟁모형에 비해 모형 적합도가 우수한 것으로 확인되었다. 아동용 인지적, 정서적, 신체적 공감 척도는 아동용 공감지수 척도(EQ-C)와 정적 상관관계를 나타냈고, 초등학생용 공격성 척도와 한국판 정서결핍 척도(K-ICU)와는 부적 상관관계를 보여 공인타당도와 변별타당도가 검증되었다. 수렴타당도 또한 양호한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 시사점과 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study was conducted to validate the cognitive, affective and somatic empathy scales (CASES) for children developed by Adrian and Frances(2018) for domestic children. For this purpose, 30 questions on the original scale were translated and re-translated forming the final questions. The data collection was conducted on 391 children (201 males and 190 females) through 4th～6th grade elementary schools of 3 regions including the P area. The collected data was randomly assigned to samples A and B for analysis. The exploratory factor analysis with sample A(n=195) suggested the three factor structure consisting of cognitive, affective, and somatic empathy were extracted and the number of the final questions was 13. With sample B(n=196), the three factor structure was confirmed by the confirmatory factor analysis and also showed that the model fit of the research model was better than the competition models. The CASES had a positive correlation with EQ-C(the children's version of the Empathy Quotient). And a concurrent validity was verified as the CASES showed a negative correlation with the aggression scale for elementary students and K-ICU(Korean Inventory of Callous-Unemotional trait). Additionally, both the convergent validity and the discriminant validity were confirmed, and they turned to be satisfied. Finally, implications and limitations were discussed based on the results of this study.
