자살위기상담전문가의 역량 모형 개발을 위한 탐색적 연구

우리나라는 OECD 회원국 가운데 가장 높은 자살률을 보이고 있으며, 이에 자살예방에서 자살위기상담전문가의 역할과 전문성이 더욱 강조되고 있는 시점이다. 본 연구는 델파이 조사를 통해 국내 실정에 맞는 자살위기상담의 범위와 자살위기상담자의 역량을 탐색하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해, 문헌조사, 전문가 심층면접, 역량 모형 초안 전문가 서면 검토를 통해 역량 모형 초안을 도출하였고, 이후 역량 모형의 내용타당성을 검토하기 위해 17명의 전문가 패널을 대상으로 2차에 걸친 델파이 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 전문가 패널은 자살위기상담의 범위를 1) 당장의 자살시도와 높은 자살충동에 있는 내담자의 안전을 확보하고 안정화시키는 것부터 2) 궁극적으로 내담자가 자신의 고통을 감소시킬 수 있는 다른 대안 사고/행동을 할 수 있기까지 자살위기 내담자의 심리내적 취약성을 다루기로 합의하였다. 또한, 전문가 패널에 의해 확정된 자살위기상담 역량 모형은 3개의 역량군, 16개의 역량요소, 45개의 역량지표로 구성되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 자살위기상담전문가 역량을 개념화하는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 본 연구로 체계화된 자살위기상담 역량 모형은 자살위기상담전문가를 양성하기 위한 교육과정을 수립하고, 상담전문가의 자격기준을 수립하는데 참조자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
South Korea has the highest suicide rate within OECD nations and the role of suicide counseling professionals has been emphasized in suicide prevention. Thus, this study is to explore the scope of suicide crisis counseling and the professional competence of suicide crisis counseling in Korea by using Delphi surveys. To this end, a draft competency model was derived through literature research, in-depth interviews with experts, and written review of the draft competency model, and two Delphi surveys were conducted on 17 panel experts to review the content validity of the competency model. As a result, the panel agreed that the scope of suicide crisis counseling should be 1) securing safety and stabilizing the clients with current suicide attempts and high suicidal impulses 2) ultimately dealing with the client’s psychological vulnerability for the purpose of finding alternative insights/behaviors for reducing self-inflicted pain. In addition, the suicide crisis counseling competency model determined by the panel consisted of 3 competency clusters, 16 competency factors, and 45 competency indicators. The results of this study can be used as basic resource conceptualizing the professional competence of suicide crisis counselors. Moreover, the suicide crisis counseling competency model systematized by this study can be used as a reference to establish a curriculum to train suicide crisis counseling professionals and establish qualification standards for counseling professionals.
