직장인의 소명의식과 삶의 만족의 관계: 일 자유의지와 소명수행의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 직장인들을 대상으로 소명의식, 일 자유의지, 소명수행, 삶의 만족 간의 관계를 파악하고, 소명의식이 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 일 자유의지와 소명수행의 매개효과와 순차적 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 다양한 직업군에 종사하는 직장인 311명을 대상으로 온라인에서 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 변인 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 소명의식과 삶의 만족, 소명의식과 일 자유의지, 소명의식과 소명수행, 일 자유의지와 소명수행, 일 자유의지와 삶의 만족, 소명수행과 삶의 만족은 모두 정적상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 소명의식과 삶의 만족 간의 관계에서 일 자유의지와 소명수행의 개별 매개효과를 검증했을 때, 각 매개변인들은 소명의식과 삶의 만족을 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 소명의식과 삶의 만족과의 관계에서 일 자유의지와 소명수행은 이중매개효과를 나타냈으나 순차 매개효과는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 통해서 직장인이 자신의 삶에 만족하며 살기 위해서는 진로 상황에서 어려움이 있어도 극복해나갈 수 있는 의지와 실제로 소명을 수행하는 것이 중요함을 검증할 수 있었다. 이에 직장인 대상의 상담에서 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 방안으로 소명의식 등의 내담자 내적 요인 뿐만 아니라 내담자가 느끼는 환경적 제약 부분에 대한 개입과 실제로 소명을 수행할 수 있도록 돕는 등의 개입을 통해 외적인 부분의 개입도 함께 이뤄져야 함을 시사할 수 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to research the relationship among perceiving a calling, work volition, living a calling, and life satisfaction, and figure out the mediating effect of work volition and living a calling between perceiving a calling and life satisfaction for workers. To confirm this, 311 workers who engaged in various occupational groups were surveyed online. The results of this study were as follows: First, perceiving a calling and life satisfaction, perceiving a calling and work volition, perceiving a calling and living a calling, work volition and living a calling, work volition and life satisfaction, living a calling and life satisfaction had a positive correlation respectively. Second, when figuring out the individual mediating effect of work volition and living a calling in the relationship between perceiving a calling and life satisfaction, each mediation variable was found to mediate perceiving a calling and life satisfaction completely. Third, work volition and living a calling showed mediating effects in the relationship between perceiving a calling and life satisfaction, but did not show sequential mediating effect. This study confirmed that it is crucial for workers to live their callings and wills to overcome difficulties in career situations to live happily in their lives. As a way to improve the quality of life in counseling for workers, it suggests that not only internal factors such as perceiving a calling but also external intervention such as intervention to help actually carry out the work volition and into the environmental constraints felt by the clients should be taken place.
