대학생의 대인외상 경험이 외상 후 스트레스(PTSD) 증상에 미치는 영향: 외상경험 관련 변인과 사회적 지지를 중심으로

초록

본 연구에서는 외상경험 관련 변인(성별, 외상 발생 연령, 전체 외상사건 빈도, 지각된 고통수준), 사회적 지지를 중심으로 대학생이 경험하는 대인 외상경험이 외상 후 스트레스(PTSD) 증상에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 3개 대학에 재학 중인 대학생을 대상으로 설문지를 배부하였으며, 최종적으로 총 228부(남 66부, 여 162부)를 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 잠재적 완전PTSD 증상집단은 42.3%, 잠재적 부분PTSD 증상집단은 13.2%로 나타났으며, 가장 고통스러운 사건으로 보고된 사건은 ‘가족과의 갈등 또는 다툼’, ‘가까운 가족 또는 친척의 사망’, ‘주변 대인관계문제(다툼, 갈등, 언쟁, 배신, 실연, 사기)’, ‘적응의 어려움(학교, 사회, 군대에서의 소외, 따돌림, 언어 및 신체적 폭력의 경험)’, ‘가족의 질병’, ‘부모의 이혼 혹은 별거’, ‘친한 친구의 사망’, ‘성추행 및 성폭력’ 순이었다. 둘째, 외상 후 스트레스증상이 외상사건 빈도, 지각된 고통수준과는 정적상관을, 사회적 지지와는 부적상관을 나타냈다. 셋째, 외상 후 스트레스 증상을 예측함에 있어 외상사건 빈도와 지각된 고통수준은 22.4%, 가족 지지는 8.2%를 설명하였다. 끝으로 본 연구의 주요 결과를 참고하여 본 연구의 의의 및 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.

Abstract

The present study was aimed at examining the types of interpersonal traumatic events and identifying the effects of trauma experience-related variables and social support on PTSD symptoms. A total of 228(male 66, female 162) of undergraduate students in Chungcheong, Jeonla, and Jeju participated. The main results are as follow. It was revealed that 42.3% of the respondents were potential full PTSD symptoms group, and 13.2% were potential partial PTSD symptoms group. It was also found that the most distressed interpersonal traumatic events were‘Dispute or conflict with family members’,‘Death of family or relatives’,‘Problems of interpersonal relationship’,‘Difficulties in adaptation’,‘Illness of family’,‘Divorce of separation(parents)’,‘Death of best friend’in order. Second, frequency of traumatic events and perceived stress level were positively correlated with PTSD symptoms, whereas social support was negatively correlated with PTSD symptoms. Third, in the regression analysis, perceived stress level(19.6%), family support(19.6%), and frequency of traumatic events(10.8%) are predictable variables of PTSD symptoms. Based on major findings, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
