『주역』의 형세론에 기초한 맹자와 율곡의 역사인식 연구

Abstract

This study tries to investigate significance of practical politics in the human society, which has become logical as a Qì theory(氣論) of phenomenological value system, in terms of Yulgok’s historical perception on appropriateness of the time(時宜). This process is also related to consideration on his governing thought that has developed into provisional politics based on time perspectives of 『Zhouyi(周易)』 from ligitimacy of lawful and institutional reform for ‘the time(時)’. A perspective of 『Zhouyi(周易)』 emphasizing and circulativeness repetitiveness of all things is the foundation of building the Confucian perspective of the world. For Yulgok, temporality of 『Zhouyi(周易)』 functions not only as an immanent principle. In other words, for Yulgok emphasizing ‘Qibariseungildo(氣發理乘一途)’, perception and awareness of the phenomenological world has significant importance in his perspective of Qi to the extent that authenticity of Li(理) becomes substantialized through Qi in the very existent world. In addition, historical events substantialized in the phenomenological world, for Yulgok, have a meaning of a train of plausible events that have authenticity in the human society. In this regard, it is worth of comparing Mencius’s perspective of understanding of history, that is related to interpreting human affairs over cause and effect, to Yulgok’s political-philosophical perspective of appropriateness of the time(時宜). Thus, this paper tries to understand Yulgok’s ideas regarding appropriateness of the time(時宜), which are very related to significance of perception and judgment of the state of affairs that become historicized through provisional politics involved with reform of the law and institution, with comparison to Mencius’s perspective of ‘the time(時)’ of 『Zhouyi(周易)』. And it is meant to be a process of investigating a meaning of Yulgok’s perspective of importance of changes through establishment of proper law and institution for the public in practical politics. In other words, the process eventually comes down to bedrock in reference to his political-philosophical emphasis on perception and judgment of ‘the time(時)’ through a view of 『Zhouyi(周易)』.
