이 연구는 남･북한의 역사적 연속성과 이념적 동질성을 확인함으로써 통일을 위한 가능성, 그 추동력을 도출하려는 것이다. 21세기, 경제성장의 중심이 서구에서 동아시아로 이동하였다. 그리고 향후 21세기 가장 위대한 세계사적 사건으로 한반도의 재통일가능성이 예측되고 있다. 그렇다면 어떻게 남･북한 통일을 가능케 할 것인가? 답을 찾기 위해 본 연구는 민족공동체 실현을 위한 가능성을, 식민지 시대 한인민족주의를 남･북한의 역사적 연속성과 이념적 동질성의 관점에서 확인해 보았다. 20세기 최대 과제인 민족독립 과제 앞에서 남･북이 함께 한 한국민족주의를 교훈 삼아, 21세기 최대 과제인 민족통일 실현을 위한 가능성을 모색해 보겠다. 그것은 좌우이념을 초월한, 순수성을 잃지 않은 한인민족주의의 이념적 동질성과 역사적 연속성이라고 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study seeks a way to realize peace in the Korean Peninsula. To achieving this goal, this study will attempt to confirm historical continuity and ideological homogeneityin in the Korean nationalism. These are positive motivational forces that will increase the possibility of reunification in the Korean Peninsula. The reunification of the Korean Peninsula is predicted to be the greatest event of 21th century. A unified Korea is the best scenario while a divided Korea is the worst scenario. After achieving unification, how we will realize a national community for sustainable economic development? Finding an answer to this question is the goal of this study. To achieve this goal, this study will concretely confirm the historical continuity and ideological homogeneity. From the basis of Rousseau’ modern nationalism, this study will provide a theoretical model balanced by theoretical objectivity and historical independence that can systemize Korean Studies.
