Abstract
Even now, the biggest readers of children's literature books are primary school students. They are common to the concept of children we commonly think of, but at the same time, they are different. Important parts of the work of turning a child into a 'modern child' took place in primary school. ‘Primary school students’ are a representative representation of 'modern children'. Primary school students look different and individual, but within the system of primary school, they are "abstract and homogenized," as Kojin Karatani said. This paper will look at how "Korean primary schools" aimed at "homogenization" were formed, and through this, we will also look at what "homogenized" "Korean primary school students" were born. Through this, I would like to discuss what the homogenization of primary education suggests for children's literature. In order to become a concrete discussion rather than a superficial discussion, this paper selects Yangpyeong Primary School in Gyeonggi-do, which has a history that began from the end of the Korean Empire, is set as the main research subject, and the formation process of 'Korean primary school students' is considered.
