Abstract
As noted, the key features of the legal education system of Korean Law Schools are mainly based on the graduate legal educational apparatus of U.S. legal Institutions. Before and after Korea introduced current legal education and bar exam system, only relatively limited researches on the legal education and training system of UK have been carried out compared to those of US. Although both U.S. and UK commonly under English common law system, the legal education system and bar licensing process of two are quite different and has some pros cons each other. However US and UK share common problems facing their legal education sector: The changing nature of the profession they supply, in particular the requirement for lower-qualified (cheaper) options from firms and the breakdown of public funding, tightening bar pass standards, and insufficient practice training for new lawyers. Depending on whether the individual aims to become a solicitor or barrister, requirements for becoming a lawyer in UK slightly differ. However all prospective lawyers must possess a qualifying law degree, otherwise, have completed a conversion requirements before enroll or apply to legal training course(LPC and training contract for solicitors, or, BPTC and pupilage for barristers) This paper begins by outlining of necessity for clinical legal education as well as teaching legal disciplines in law schools and related legal institutions. Introducing existing requirements and prospective changes in English legal education and legal training practices, this article would provide some implications that offer a window on increasingly instrumental and consumerist expectations for legal professions in modern times.
