Abstract
In modern society, the proportion of elderly population is gradually increasing, leading to a rising demand forhealthcare. Falls are a major cause of injury among the elderly, and this paper proposes a deep neural networkasedfall detection system that uses low-resolution infrared images to detect falls in real-time. By acquiring imagesthrough cost-effective infrared equipment, we address both cost reduction and privacy issues, yet maintain highrecognition performance by designing a convolutional-LSTM model that effectively recognizes the flow of fallsthrough multi-frame input. This approach achieved 96.1% accuracy on the eHomeSeniors fall detection dataset, demonstrating the performance of the proposed cost-effective, privacy-preserving fall detection system.
