주전자는 일찍이 인간들의 생활에서 필요에 의해 실용성을 목적으로 제작된 용기이다. 이러한 주전자가 오늘날에는 순수 조형작품의 소재로 많이 사용되고 있다. 이는 사회전반에 걸친 변화로 생활공간에 새로움을 추구하는 개인의 정서와 현대예술에서의 주도적 모티브인 주관성이 정착하면서 개인적 해석이나 응용에 따라 무한한 변화를 추구하는 작가로 인해 실용의 범위를 벗어난 독창적인 형태의 주전자가 창조되고 있다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 많은 상상력을 발휘하여 다양한 조형적 변화가 가능한 주전자를 조형 요소로 표현해 보고, 현대인의 삶을 새롭게 이끌어내며 서로 소통하는 매개체로서 역할을 하는 조형물로서의 새로운 이미지를 도자 조형화 하고자 한다. 조형이라 함은 점, 선, 면, 색, 형, 색등의 조형 요소와 여러 가지 재질을 이용하여 시각적, 역학적으로 삼차원의 공간 내에 자율적으로 형태를 만들어내는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 조형 요소를 주전자 형태의 다양한 부분들을 표현하는데 활용하였고 또한 이러한 요소들이 생각이나 느낌을 드러내어 이미지를 형상화하는데 효과적인 조형 언어로 사용되어 졌다. 제작 방법은 연구자가 의도하는 주전자 형태의 조형적 특성을 최대한 살리고자 석고 틀을 이용한 이장주입성형 기법을 택하였고, 표면 장식은 저화도 안료를 활용 하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 주전자라는 소재를 통해 다양한 내용을 담은 조형적 형태를 만들었다. 이는 사용에 편리하고 보기에 좋은 물질적 수단으로서의 공간 조형물임과 동시에 우리 삶의 방식을 이끌어내고, 우리들의 공유된 감정들을 서로 소통하는 매개체로서의 가치를 지닌 조형물로 표현하고자 하였다.
Abstract
A kettle is a utensil developed a long time ago for practical purposes because of the need in human life. These days, it is widely used as a material for pure formative works. This is a societal change and, because of artists who pursue endless changes depending on individual interpretations and applications, unique types of kettles beyond the boundary of practicality are being created while personal emotions that pursue newness in living spaces and subjectiveness, a leading motive in modern art, settle in the society. In this regard, this study will describe, with lots of imagination, a kettle to which we can apply various formative changes as a formative element and modelize new images of the kettle in ceramic as a model of communication tool that leads changes in modern life. formative is to visually and dynamically create shapes in three- dimensional spaces using formative elements like points, lines, surfaces, types and colors and other materials. In this study, these formative elements were used to describe many parts in shape of kettle and as a effective language for forming images exposing thoughts and feelings. The slip-casting technique using plaster molds was adopted for production and low definition pigments were used for surface decoration in order to best express the formative features of kettle shape meant by the researcher. Thus, this study made a formative shape with various contents using a subjects material named kettle. The study tried to describe it as a model valuable as a communication tool that leads our living styles and transfer our shared feeling as well as a spatial model that serves as a physical matter that is easy to use and good to look at.
