Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the Journal Daehanhakhoiweolbo, the magazine of Korean students society in Japan, and to examine the characteristics of narrative literature accordingly. The Journal Daehanhakhoiweolbo was the organization of the Korean Academy, which was established in January 1908 through the integration of the Korean Student Association, Nakdong Friendship Association, and Honam Society. The Journal Daehanhakhoiweolbo was published on February 25, 1908 through November 25, 1908. Although the Korean Student Association formed some unity of the Korean students society in Japan, the actual integration of the group began with the Daehanhakhoi Academy. The Journal Daehanhakhoiweolbo, the organization of the Korean Academy, served as a transitional journal for integration. Therefore, the Journal Daehanhakhoiweolbo was also functioning as a place of literature where students can experiment with various narratives while integrating various international student associations and combining the stylistic characteristics of each international student association. It served as a collection center for historical narratives of the time by using historical biographies, Monglyulok narratives, and dialogue narratives that were frequently used by Japanese students. Also, among them, as a transitional society leading to an integrated society, the Journal DaehanHeunghakbo, which integrates and expresses the characteristics of each society, based on this, new literature in the middle process from the DaehanHeunghakbo to the appearance of the title of <novel>, it can be said that it has played a role in driving modern literature. It can be said that these literary devices and experiments acted as an opportunity to give birth to modern literature, leading to the Journal Daehan Heunghakbo.
