Abstract
Purpose: This study analyzed the effect of self-management on the improvement of dance performance ability, considering the physical self-perception of high school students majoring in dance. Methods: A total of 272 female high school students majoring in dance from the S, G, C, and B regions were selected for a survey. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 29.0 and AMOS 29.0, employing frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: First, self-management of high school students majoring in dance showed a significant positive (+) effect on dance performance ability. Second, self-management of high school students majoring in dance had a significant positive (+) effect on physical self-perception. Third, physical self-perception had a significant positive (+) effect on dance performance ability. Conclusion: The factors of self-management, specifically physical management and mental management, had a significant impact on dance performance ability. Additionally, physical self-perception, particularly the factors of physical fitness and condition, was found to have a significant influence. The findings indicate that self-management in high school students majoring in dance enhances both physical self-perception and dance performance ability. Moreover, the results confirm that self-management and physical self-perception are key factors in improving the dance performance ability of dance major students.
