초록

The objective of this research is to identify key components of potential absorptive capacity influencing marketing knowledge acquisition from foreign parents in IJVs. The research focuses particularly on marketing knowledge as it is another pivot contributing to organizational competitiveness together with technology. In order to explore the issue, OLS regression analyses are commonly used in most of the previous studies in examining similar topics. Our findings reveal that to embark on knowledge acquisition as an initial stage, IJVs possessing "intent to learn" and "sufficient international experience" with parent firms sharing "cultural compatibility" will be a better knowledge acquirers. These results provide useful implications to MNEs which plan to establish the hybrid formations with local firms in foreign markets.
