고령화 사회에 접어든 우리 사회는 노인과 관련된 다양한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안이 필 요한 시점이다. 특히 지역사회의 노인 문제에 대한 다양한 선행논문을 본문에서 고찰했듯이 노인에게 나타나는 정신적이고 신체적인 퇴보를 예방하는 것도 문제 해결의 한 방법으로 볼 수 있다. 그런 의미에서 노인미술치료는 지역사회 노인들의 심리적, 신체적 문제를 완화시키 고 예방하는데 효과가 있는 것으로 연구되었다. 그 효과를 구체적으로 제시하면 첫째, 미술을 활용한 창작활동이 노인들의 내면세계와 외면세계를 연결하는 활동이 가능하다. 둘째, 미술치 료 프로그램은 미술을 통하여 심리적, 정서적 갈등을 완화시킴으로서 원만하고, 창조적인 활 동이 가능하다. 셋째, 미술치료는 비언어 체계이기 때문에 부정적 감정을 표출하는 완충제 역 할을 하면서 감정교류를 할 수 있다. 넷째, 비슷한 상황과 욕구를 가진 동료들이 서로를 지지 해주고 문제 해결을 도와주며 다른 동료들의 피드백으로부터 공감 및 자기이해를 촉진시키게 되면서 사회성과 관계증진에 도움이 된다. 다섯째, 언어적인 부분에서 오는 거부감을 미술이 라는 매개체로 표현함으로서 내담자의 내적인 부분을 분석하고, 표출된 내면의 세계와 소통할 수 있다. 노인보호시설에서 미술치료가 활발히 이루어지기 위해서는 노인보호시설의 특성을 잘 파악 하여 효율적으로 노인 특성에 알맞은 미술치료 프로그램을 진행하는 것이다. 또한 이 같은 효 과를 위해 국가나 지방자치단체의 경제적인 지원이 지속적으로 이루어진다면 지역사회와 노 인 복지서비스의 활발한 네트워크에 의해 노인미술치료가 활성화 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
It is time when our society, which has entered an aging society, needs a way to solve various problems related to the elderly. In particular, the prevention of mental and physical degeneration appearing in the elderly can be seen as a solution to the problem, as discussed in the text of various previous papers on the elderly problem in the community. In this sense, the art therapy for the elderly was studied to be effective to relax and prevent the psychological and physical problems of the elderly in the community. Specific effects can be presented as follows: First, Creative activities using art can connect the inner world and the outer world of the elderly. Second, the art therapy programs make smooth and creative activities possible by mitigating psychological and emotional conflict through art. Third, since art therapy is a non linguistic system, it enables emotional exchanges by acting as a buffer to express negative emotions. Fourth, colleagues with similar situations and needs help each other, solve problems, promote empathy and self-understanding from the feedback of other peers, helping to promote sociality and relationships. Fifth, by expressing the rejection from the linguistic part as the medium of art, the inner part of the client can be analyzed and communicated with the expressed inner world. In order for art therapy to be actively performed in the elderly care facility, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the elderly care facility and to carry out the art therapy program appropriate for the elderly characteristics. In addition, if the economic support of the state or municipalities is continuously made for this effect, the elderly art therapy can be activated by the active network of the community and the elderly welfare service.
