인도네시아 대표적 화교은행, 베쩨아은행의 발전과정과 현황

아세안의 중심국인 인도네시아에는 1천만 명이 넘는 화교가 있는 것으로 알려져 있고, 이들은 인도네시아 경제발전을 이끌며 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 인도네시아 경제의 급속한 발전과 은행시스템의 지속적인 개선으로 인도네시아 은행은아시아 은행산업의 중요한 부분이 되었다. 이에 본 연구는 인도네시아 화교 및 화교기업의 발전과정과 현황을 연구하고, 베쩨아은행의 발전과정과 위상을 분석하였다. 베쩨아은행은 인도네시아의 대표적 화교기업가인 린샤오량(林绍良)에 의해 설립되었고, 인도네시아 경제 및 화교기업의 발전을 견인했다. 베쩨아은행은 친화교적인 수하르토 집권시에 빠른 성장을 이루었지만, 정권이 바뀌면서 기존의 혜택을 누리지 못하고 현지인들의 견제를받으면서 현재는 화교재벌인 황후이샹(黃惠祥), 황후이중(黃惠忠) 형제가 대주주로 있다. 최근 베쩨아은행는 지속적인 성장을 이루어 관심을 받고 있으며, 우수한 인적자원과네트워크를 보유하는 등의 강점을 보유하고 있다. 그러나 여러 은행간의 치열한 경쟁, 진보적인 디지털전환을 개발할 필요성에 직면해 있다. 본 연구는 인도네시아 화교기업과 화교은행에 대한 이해를 돕고, 한국기업의 인도네시아 진출에 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
Indonesia, the central country of ASEAN, is known to have more than 10 million Overseas Chinese, and they occupy an important position in leading Indonesia’s economic development. With the rapid development of the Indonesian economy and continuous improvement of the banking system, Indonesian banks have become an important part of Asian banking industry. Accordingly, this study studied the development process and status of Chinese Indonesian companies, and analyzed the development process and status of BCA. BCA was founded by Lin Xiaoliang, a representative Overseas Chinese entrepreneur in Indonesia, and led the development of Indonesian economy and Overseas Chinese businesses. BCA achieved rapid growth during the pro-Chinese Suharto’s administration, but with the change of regime, it was unable to enjoy the existing benefits and came under checks from the locals. Currently, the Overseas Chinese tycoon brothers Huang Hui-xiang and Huang Hui-zhong are the major shareholders. Recently, BCA has been attracting attention due to its continuous growth, and has strengths such as having excellent human resources and networks. However, it is facing fierce competition among various banks and the need to develop advanced digital transformation. This study helps understand Overseas Chinese companies and banks, and provides implications for Korean companies entering Indonesia.
