예술아카이브의 현황과 도입방안 연구

국문요약본 연구는 예술기록자료를 보존하는 예술아카이브 (arts archives)의 국내 구축방안을 살펴보려는 데 그 목적이 있다 . 예술아카이브는 예술관련 기관에서 생산되거나 혹은 예술과 관련된 가치 있는 기록자료를 수집 , 평가, 분류, 보존하여 유용한 정보로 가공하여 필요자에게 제공하는 공익 기관이다 . 현재 우리에게는 낯선 사회적 기능이지만 , 이미 해외 주요 국가들은 예술아카이브의 중요성을 인식하여 다양한 형태와 유형으로 예술아카이브를 본격적으로 설립 운영하고 있다. 이러한 상황인식 하에 본 연구는 예술아카이브에 대한 이해와 필요성 , 그리고 국내외 예술아카이브 사례를 바탕으로 예술아카이브의 국내 구축방안을 모색해 보았다 . 예술아카이브는 공익성, 비시장성, 공정성, 독립성(자율성), 전문성, 협력성의 6가지 특징을 지니며, 이에 ‘수집보존기능’, ‘연구기능’, ‘전시기능’, ‘사회교육기능’이 더해져 새로운 예술연구, 창조, 실험이 가능한 복합 문화공간으로 변모하고 있다 . 따라서 예술사, 기록관리학, 보존처리, 분류 및 평가 , 정보기술에 대한 전문적 인력이 및 유관기관과 다양한 협력이 필요하다 . 공익적 사명을 가진 예술관련 조직은 사회 윤리적 측면에서 아카이브의 설치가 필수적으로 요청된다 . 이를 통해 공익조직은 도덕적 기반을 갖출 수 있으며 , 제 사명을 올바로 추진할 수 있을 것이다 . 이제 예술아카이브는 그 중요성이 인식되어야 하며 , 활발한 논의와 연구를 필요로 한다.
Abstract
This study mainly focuses on the way of the domestic establishment of the arts archives preserving art records. The arts archives refer to the institution that collects, evaluates, classifies and preserves the valuable records produced in art-related organizations or related with arts to make them useful information. However, Korea didn't have chance to recognize the arts archives' importance. This study seeks the direction of establishment of arts archives in Korea. Based on that understanding of arts archives, domestic necessity, and the inside and outside of the country instance of arts archives. The seeking for the public-interests, nonmarket-orientedness, fairness, self -regulating, professionalism and cooperation are the main features of arts archives. We need experts handling the art history, archival management, conserving process, classification and evaluation, and information technology, and we should promote cooperation with institutions related to art. I expect that more active and detail studies and discussions on the arts archives should be carried out.
