Abstract
The study attempted to empirically test the doctors and patients perceptions on doctor's communication skill employing coorientation model. The communication Skill questionnaires have been administered to 150 doctors and patients each. As a result, doctors perceive themselves as having efficient communication with their patients but their patients are not perceived to be up to their expectations. On the other hands, patients are relatively satisfied with their doctor's communication skill, although they perceive their physician's overestimation of communication skill. Thus, doctors should pay attention to their patient's communication needs in order to reduce their communication gap with patients.
