생명표 기법을 통한 미혼남녀의 사망력과 생애미혼율 추정: 1980~2015

본 연구는 미혼남녀들의 사망력, 그리고 이들이 노년까지 미혼으로 남아있을 확률(생애미혼율)을 통시적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 1980년에서 2015년에 이르기까지 15세 이상 미혼자 생명표를 작성하였다. 또한 이들의 사망률과 초혼이행률을 반영한 다중생명표를 통해 미혼잔존율을 산출하였다. 생명표 작성에 사용된 자료는 추계인구, 총조사인구 및 동태통계이다. 추계인구와 총조사인구를 사용하여 미혼자 연앙인구를, 동태통계의 미혼자 사망건수와 초혼건수를 통해 미혼자 사망률과 초혼이행률을 산출하였다. 자료가 가용하지 않은 과거 시점의 사망률과 초혼이행률은 후방투사를 통해 추정하였다. 미혼자 생명표에 따르면 미혼남녀의 사망력은 2000년을 전후로 크게 변화한 것으로 확인된다. 최근시기로 올수록 미혼자 사망력은 전체인구의 그것에 근접하였다. 미혼자들의 사망과 초혼이행을 고려한 다중생명표에 의하면, 초혼으로 이행하지 않고 미혼인 상태로 노년까지 생존한 생애미혼율이 크게 증가한 것이 확인된다. 본 연구에서 제시된 미혼자 생명표는 기존 생명표의 구성과 내용을 보다 풍부히 한다는 의의를 가진다. 또한 생애미혼율은 최근 들어 주목을 받는 비혼 현상에 접근할 수 있는 계량적 정보를 확보한다는 의의를 가진다. 본 연구에서 제시된 자료응용과 추정방식이 향후 해당 혹은 관련 연구 작업에서 발전되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the changes in the mortality of the never married and the propensity to remain never married until old age. The study constructed single abridged life tables and multiple decrement life tables for the period of 1980-2015. The data come from Projection Population, Census Population and Vital Statistics of National Statistics Office of Korea. The mid-year population of the never married is driven from Projection Population and Census Population, the numbers of death for the never married and incidences of first marriage are obtained from reports of death and marriage in vital statistics. The rates of death and first marriage for the period of absent information are estimated through the method of backward projection. The results show that the mortality of the never married has significantly improved particularly since 2000. It has approached the mortality level of the whole population in recent years. The multiple decrement life tables containing death and first marriage confirms that probabilities of remaining never married has significantly increased. The life tables presented in the study is expected to enrich our understanding on the tendency of being unmarried till the death as well as mortality changes among the unmarried. It is also expected that data application and estimation method in the study will provide a basis for the future research on the related subjects.
