이번 연구에서는 『선데이 서울』의 서지 자료 구축을 위한 첫걸음으로, 1972년 7월부터 12월까지 발행된 각 호의 목차를 정리하여 제시하고자 한다.2 이러한 작업은 단순한 목록화가 아니라, 당시 대중문화의 지형과 사회적 욕망의 구조를 읽어내는 기초적 단서가 될 것이며, 나아가 『선데이 서울』을 둘러싼 평가의 이분법을 넘어 보다 균형 잡힌 문화사적 이해로 나아가기 위한 출발점이 될 것이다.
Abstract
As a first step toward constructing a bibliographic database of Sunday Seoul, this study presents a systematic organization of the tables of contents from each issue published between July and December 1972. This undertaking goes beyond simple cataloging; it serves as a foundational means of reading the landscape of popular culture and the structure of social desires in the early 1970s. Furthermore, by moving beyond the prevailing dichotomous evaluations surrounding Sunday Seoul, this work seeks to open a path toward a more balanced and nuanced cultural-historical understanding of the magazine.
