본 연구는 실존주의와 내러티브 의학교육에 관한 연구이다. 최근 우리의 교육은 논리적 실증주의와 모더니즘의 합리성, 획일성, 전체성을 강조하는 모더니즘 교육이 아닌, 개인의 주체성과 다양성을 강조하는 포스트모더니즘과 실존주의교육을 지향하고 있다. 파이너는 실존주의에 기반하여 개인의 경험자체와 주체성에 입각한 스스로 선택한 교육과정을 강조하며, 자서전적 글쓰기를 제안하고 있다. 개인의 사고 작용에 관한 이야기를 강조하는 것은 내러티브 교육과도 같은 맥락이라 할 수 있다. 교육의 다양한 분야에서 실존주의와 내러티브가 강조되고 있으며, 최근 의학 분야에서도 환자의 내러티브를 강조하는 환자중심의 의료가 강조되고 있다. 따라서 최근 의학교육 분야에도 내러러티브 의학교육을 강조하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 가장 오랜 전통을 가진 고전중심의 교과중심교육에서 실존주의 교육을 살펴보고, 내러티브 의학교육에 관하여 연구하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study concerns existentialism and narrative medical education. Recently, the focus of South Korean education has been shifting from modernist education that emphasizes logical positivism and rationality, uniformity, and wholeness of modernism, to post-modernism that emphasizes individual identity and diversity and existentialist education. Based on existentialism, Pinar places emphasis on choosing one's own curriculum based on the experience and identity of an individual, and proposes autobiographical writing. Emphasizing stories related to individuals' thinking process is in the same context as narrative education. In various areas of education, existentialism and narrative are being emphasized and, recently, in the medical field, patient-oriented medicine that emphasizes narrative of patients is being emphasized. Therefore, recent medical education also emphasizes narrative medical education. This study examined existentialist education based on subject-centered curriculum focused on and narrative medical education.
