ADHD 대학생의 치료과정에서의 성장유형 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 ADHD 대학생이 치료과정에서 보이는 성장유형을 도출함으로써 향후 ADHD 대학생에게 효과적인 상담 개입을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 이론적 표본추출방법으로 선정하였으며, 아동 청소년기에 ADHD 진단받고 최소 1년 이상의 치료 경험이 있으며, 현재 대학 생활에 기능적으로 적응하고 있다고 응답한 남녀 대학생 15명이었다. 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였고, 자료분석은 근거이론 분석방법을 사용하여 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩 순으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 핵심범주는 ‘제멋대로의 삶을 조율해 나아가기’로 나타났고, ‘순응적 조율형’, ‘지지추구형 조율형’, ‘자율적 조율형’, ‘투쟁적 조율형’의 네 가지 성장유형을 도출할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 각 유형의 의미와 상담 현장에 주는 시사점을 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for future effective counseling interventions for undergraduate students with ADHD by identifying the types of growth that undergraduate students with ADHD exhibit during the process of treatment. The participants of the study were 15 male and female undergraduate students who were diagnosed with ADHD in childhood, had at least one year of treatment experience, and reported that they were functionally adjusting to undergraduate life. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, and the data were analyzed using grounded theory analysis method, which is open, axial, and selective coding. As a result, the core category was found to be ‘tuning life as one pleases, and four types of growth were derived: ‘Adaptive Tuning’, ‘Support-Seeking Tuning’, ‘Autonomous Tuning’, and ‘Bellicose Tuning’. Based on these results, the meaning of each type and implications for counseling practice were discussed.
