Abstract

This study aimed to identify factors influencing financial security among individuals in their 20s by conducting multinomial logistic regression analysis on 603 respondents including college students, job seekers, and employees. The results showed an overall financial security level of 2.32 out of 5 points. Significant factors affecting financial security included gender (men scored higher than women), parents' income (higher when exceeding 7.2 million won), personal income (higher when exceeding 900,000 won), and economic activity status (college students and employees scored higher than job seekers). Notably, young adults demonstrated improved financial security when generating their own income rather than depending on parental support. Based on these findings, the study presents implications for financial consumer education and counseling to enhance financial welfare for young adults in their 20s.
