노인자살 예방을 위한 기독교 상담적 돌봄: 이야기 치료를 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 생애주기에서 가장 자살률이 높은 노년기의 자살을 예방하기 위해 이야기치료를 중심으로 기독교 상담적 제언을 하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 노인자살과 관련된 선행연구들을 토대로 자살의 원인과 치료적 개입을 개관하였다. 종교성 및 영성이 노인의 자살률을 완화시킬 수 있는 보호요인이라는 국내외의 연구결과를 근거로 이야기치료를 통해 노인자살예방을 위한 기독교상담의 관점에서 개입을 시도해본 것이다. 노인의 자살을 예방하기 위해 이야기치료를 적용한 기독교상담적인 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 문제로 가득 찬 이야기가 대안적인 이야기로 새롭게 구성되도록 인도한다. 둘째, 이야기의 전환은 생의 의미를 생성할 수 있어야 한다. 셋째, 내담자의 아프고 막힌 이야기는 무너진 자존감이 회복되는 이야기로 재저작되어야 한다. 넷째, 예배와 같은 적극적인 종교활동을 통해 인간의 내러티브와 하나님의 내러티브를 연결되도록 한다. 다섯째, 노인에게 기독교적인 고유한 지혜와 실천을 제공하는 회원재구성을 통해 협력적인 관계를 유지해 나가도록 한다. 여섯째, 이야기치료의 반영팀 활용을 통해 개인의 생애 경험을 더 풍부하게 만들어간다. 이와 같은 제언을 통해 본 연구는 기독교관점에서 이야기치료를 재구성하여 노인자살예방을 위한 실천적이고 임상적인 함의를 찾는데 그 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to make Christian counseling suggestions based on narrative therapy in order to prevent elderly suicide whose rate is the highest in the life cycle. According to the domestic and foreign studies, religiosity and spirituality is the protection factor to lower elderly suicide rate. Based on the result, through the narrative therapy, this study tried to intervene to prevent elderly suicide from the perspective of Christian counseling. The Christian counseling suggests based on narrative therapy to prevent elderly suicide are presented as follows: First, the story saturated with elderly issues leads into an alternative story newly Secondly, story transition should bring about the creation of life meaning. Thirdly, a client's sad and despairing story should be re-authored to a story to recover the client's crushed self-esteem. Fourthly, it is required to connect human narrative with God's narrative through active religious activities like church service. Fifthly, it is necessary to build cooperative relationship through re-membering service that provides the elderly with the unique wisdom and practice of Christianity. Sixthly, with the application of the reflecting team of narrative therapy, it is needed to enrich individuals' life experience. By making the suggestions, this study is meaningful in the point that it re-constructs narrative therapy from the Christian perspective and finds the practical and clinical implication to prevent elderly suicide.
