Abstract
In this study, we developed educational materials to help students learn about the crystal structure of metals that are challenging for high school students in chemistry II in high school or general chemistry in university. Several previous studies have proposed materials that help students to understand the calculation of particle radius through crystal structure, but did not show the viewpoint of crystal structure of various metals. In this study, we developed educational materials using GeoGebra software for modelling simple cubic lattice, body-centered cubic structure, and face-centered cubic structure in three-dimensional space. In the modeling process, unit cubic cells and ball-shaped particles were placed according to the arrangement of particles, and the number of spheres contained in the unit cubic cells was indicated by rearranging the pieces of spheres contained in the unit cubic cells. We also modeled how the particles were arranged where several unit cubic cells were adjacent to each other.
